With this whole pandemic going on, I understand that a traditional funeral is not possible, but have you or her close ones thought about an alternative?

A lot of phone messages are flying around right now, and while there's probably going to be a wake at some point in the future, there is a lot of plates in the air right now and a lot of extended family to manage. I'm not running point on such an operation, and I'm not sure anyone ready to commit to anything.

In all seriousness, I'm not baking as much as I usually would be simply because of how little flour I have left. I'm rationing, I guess.

I don't know the specific situation where you are, but I've had luck with restaurant supply stores. You'll buy it in 50 lb bags, but it keeps for 6+ months and if you have a friend or two who'll go in on it with you it's a great way to stock up. They're not really designed to sell to the average consumer, but if you're willing to buy things in ludicrous bulk it can make sense.

I'm not very mobile right now, no car or such. Wholesalers also aren't much of a thing here. There's Metro, but they only serve businesses. Right now, my plan is to be very early at the grocery store and hope they're adequately stocked right after opening.

Honestly, I'd love to have a retail store that focuses on getting non-perishable bulk goods into consumer hands cheaply. Ya know, I don't wanna buy 5kg cans of tomatos at Metro, I wanna buy a bunch of 500g cans to fill my pantry. And I'd use that even without corona.

By any chance are you Canadian? If so, Bulk Barn does exactly what you're looking for. They have stores all over the Country but also do Online ordering too.

Nahh, German. I've googled a bit, to no avail. Best bet is probably to start a business and go to metro...

Don't forget that that older kids are generally more able to keep healthy. They can appreciate better how serious the situation is and are generally capable of being more sanitary. Personally, I'm in the latter camp: Older kids who can't effectively learn at home should be the first to go back in. Uni students, not so much. Attendance is too loosely tracked to make contact tracing viable; they also travel too far, making them a better vector. Start with high and middle schoolers approaching important exams. We also threaten the childcare of essential workers by inviting everyone back into primary schools and kindergartens. If we have cases there, everyone has to stay home and we risk infecting essential workers.

      Also, * May 3rd.

I'm a contract technical writer and have been with my company for a little over a year and a half. I got the news Monday that they won't be able to extend my contract again :') I was expecting it but it still hurt. The day of I cried but now it's just what it is. They gotta trim the fat and contractors are the way to go. They at least get to keep me on until the end of May. It sucks because it's a higher up/bean counter sort of thing. The team needs the extra hands. They mentioned that whenever this is over and they get a chance they would potentially contact me if I didn't already have a job lol.

So that's stress. Luckily my SO still has his job and it pays enough for us to be okay with just his income. It's a weird feeling and a bit demoralizing to know that I only have til the end of May. I think I'm done processing my feelings on it but I'm bummed out at the timing.
