Daily coronavirus-related chat, questions, and minor updates - April 15

I am starting to see increased social media activity from friends on the right/libertarians who want to reopen everything and claim the earlier projections were "bad data" and "this has been blown out of proportion."
I hate people.
I've seen a lot of that too. I live in Michigan, and even though we're one of the worst hit states, a lot of my relatives seem to think the same thing. It's disheartening. We might just be on the verge of slowing the spread of this virus, and people are wanting to "re-open"... as if that won't undo all the effort we've put in already. It makes no sense.
New York is going to issue an executive order to require people to wear masks in public situations where others are nearby.
This is the latest issue rearing its head in New Zealand. How people can't figure out cause and effect is beyond me.
