As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route).

Perhaps Trump is actually trying his best to not be re-elected but his base just gulps it all down and asks for seconds?
Now he's straight up killing his own supporters.

Obviously this is a load of BS. But I think the "disinfectant" he is talking about seems to refer to the UV light, no? For both, he references their ability to kill the virus in a minute, which...
“A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous — whether it’s ultraviolet or very powerful light. And I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going test it. Supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going test that too. Sounds interesting. And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number in the lungs. It would be interesting to check you’re going have to use medical doctors with that, but it sounds interesting to me. And so we’ll see. But the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute, that’s pretty powerful.”
Obviously this is a load of BS. But I think the "disinfectant" he is talking about seems to refer to the UV light, no? For both, he references their ability to kill the virus in a minute, which makes me think they're the same. It is a weird choice of words, I agree, but not technically incorrect. UV light does disinfect things. I don't know why he is talking about "injecting" it though, but Trump isn't exactly known for coherent speech. Perhaps it is another way of conveying the idea of "bringing the light inside the body"? Anyways, I just think the way everyone is interpreting this is kind of disingenuous. It is more than a little bit of a stretch to say he's telling everyone to inject bleach or something.
edit: I watched the actual clip and I'm not so sure anymore. The injection seems to be a separate suggestion/question to the doctor? But then why is he talking about the light killing the virus in one minute?
I think this video offers some useful context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtgVxGkrX1Y Bill Bryan talks about UV, and then about disinfectants, and Trump responds in the same order - first...
Bill Bryan talks about UV, and then about disinfectants, and Trump responds in the same order - first asking about UV inside the body, then about disinfectants inside the body. I think the "one minute" thing is referring to what Bryan said about how fast the disinfectants act on the virus.

I didn't think Donald Trump was a leader in the Jim Jones style, but what do I know. OTOH, I'm not the only one who's noted similarities.

I guess we might know where he got part of the idea: https://twitter.com/DanWilbur/status/1253705434780893184
Trump's "save" reminds me of this.
