    This isn't surprising to me. People with a history of asthma are permanently disqualified as well, and the permanent damage to the lungs the virus can do should be disqualifying. That being said,...

    This isn't surprising to me. People with a history of asthma are permanently disqualified as well, and the permanent damage to the lungs the virus can do should be disqualifying.

    That being said, in times of need, waivers have always appeared to make sure enlistment counts are met. I imagine waivers could be granted for this as well (as they have been for asthma in the past).

    This so-called "permanent" disqualification might end up being temporary, but better to wait until more is understood before accepting new recruits, I assume.
