It's (mostly) true. Crossing fingers it stays that way! We've had five days of zero cases on several thousand tests now[1], and have had a steady recovery to under 50 active cases now (49 as of today), with several regions of the country COVID-19 free, at least according to the data we have. It's been several weeks since we've had a case with unknown origin from local transmission.

Of course, this virus doesn't discriminate. If you let your guard down, it'll shoot right back up. Fingers crossed we can get to zero active cases and maintain a closed border, because I personally fear anything short of that will see a resurgence in cases very quickly. It only takes one idiot.

[1]: There was 1 confirmed case, in this five day period, that was from a college student who was sick many weeks ago, finally yielding a positive test result—which was suggested to likely be dead virus fragments.

11 regions with zero active cases, 9 regions with a least 1 active case.

And one more update[1]: 0 new cases today, on 2700 tests (the testing rate drops significantly in the weekends). No new recoveries, so 45 - 0 + 0 = 45 current cases. [1]: I'll stop now :P

Wow. As someone from the UK can I say I wish more countries responded to this in the way yours did. A quick look really puts it into perspective, it only takes us a few hours to surpass your total of deaths from the whole epidemic, and that's on a good day, and it's being hailed as a great success, people are going back to work, down to the beach and we're thinking of opening schools. Disaster.

If you're after something to read this evening (?) take a look at this timeline of events here. https://appeasement.org/

It looks bad enough by itself but it ignores the fact they've been being warned for years pandemic preparedness was bad.
