Bolton is a town in the north west of England, just north west of Manchester.

The UK is dealing with three things:

    1. The gradual re-opening of everything

    2. People feeling safer because of vaccination

    3. New variants spreading

This is a pretty terrible combination, especially in the UK with Johnson refusing to make any decision about lockdown or travel restrictions until it's far too late. The travel advice is confusing: if you live in one of 8 places in the UK you should avoid travelling out of, or into, those areas. But this was communicated by changing a gov website, and those local systems were not told.

A week ago Bolton had seen 13 people admitted with a covid diagnosis over the previous seven days. Today the seven day total is 33. We've seen this before

Bolton doesn't appear to be a place with increased vaccine hesitancy.
