I've read some service people are filing religious exemption or willing to undergo dishonorable discharge to avoid vaccination. Sad how it's all been politicized much more than other vaccines. I don't recall any complaining or conspiracies when we were all just lined up at reception and shot in both arms multiple times with who knows what but we didn't complain and we trusted our government wasn't injecting us with satanic mind control fluids or whatever is the flavor of the week conspiracy among those people. Though there were a few complaints about the butt shot and rightly so, I was limping for days. That really hurt, Charlie.

    What is Defense One?

I don’t see this elsewhere in the news and beyond the vaccine not focusing on the original SARS work it doesn’t seem particularly groundbreaking; the current mRNA vaccines almost fit the description. I suspect the reason they don’t is because they were developed with the immediate goal of having a working Covid vaccine asap.

I check Defense One occasionally, since they cover a lot of US Military and National Security news that nobody else seems interested in covering. And unlike Military Times and Stars & Stripes, the other Military focused news orgs that are a bit more on the "feel good"/propaganda-ish side, Defense One doesn't shy away from critical stuff. E.g. From a few days ago - At Least 458 U.S. Crimes Tied to Extremism Involved Veterans, Active Duty Troops

Thanks for that. The name of the site threw me off and got me defensive (heh), especially since they seemed to cover a lot of political topics.

I don’t think it’s worth worrying about being defensive here - some general skepticism is entirely reasonable, and you likely weren’t the only one wondering.

this is absolutely fantastic news. but... oh my god I'm sure that's accurate scientifically but could they maybe not have called it a "nanoparticle vaccine"? anti-vaxxers are already running wild...

    but...

    Spike Ferritin Nanoparticle COVID-19 vaccine

oh my god I'm sure that's accurate scientifically but could they maybe not have called it a "nanoparticle vaccine"? anti-vaxxers are already running wild with the idea that mRNA vaccines "change your DNA".

Here is a blog post about this new vaccine. Apparently the researchers published pre-clinical results recently. (On monkeys.) We’re still waiting on Phase 1 results.
