It is astounding how callous and destructive a company can be when its decision makers can hide behind and twist medical recommendations by doctors who they themselves pay and who haven't practiced in 2 decades.

It doesn't even take terminal illness. Even small routine stuff regularly needs a series of beuracratic paperwork and probably still gets denied. Every doctor I've asked says IBX pays them less than any other provider. They get away with it because so many people are covered by it patients ger burned (or not seen) if they don't take it.

Their customer service makes Comcast's fantastic by comparison.

The pharmacy CVS has prescription coverage plan that, surprise, heavily favors CVS. I have one of the top plans, and they don't cover most non-generics, again defeating most of the point.

The whole industry is a giant leech that specifically avoids the entire problem it was created to solve, as the article nicely shows.

It should be immediately be dismantled, all employees transferred to doing actual useful medical care.
