I'm not even reading yet, I can't handle this level of sociopathy first thing in the AM. I'm just gonna roll off my instant thoughts brought up from the title, tags, and my existing knowledge of the US medical system.

Pharma companies, which the medical device industry shares a lot of similarities with, are a rotten bunch. All marketing should be banned, but especially direct-to-doctor marketting. It injects bias at a critical trust point with questionable motives.

The VA is badly underfunded. People who rah rah military action while ignoring the VA need a punch in the face.

The entire industry around medicine is horrifically broken. Treatment manufacturing should be relegated to non-profits whom see no incentives for making one drug over another. Research should be conducted by public institutions with public domain results. Medical care should be free at point of use. Middlemen like insurance companies should not exist.

We could fix this. But the machine is too big, too daunting as a common person to fight. So instead we all suffer so sociopaths can make more money at the expense of people's health.
