I've recently tried to increase my sleep from 5-6 hours per day, to 7 hours per day.

It's been pretty rough accommodating this change: I set an alarm to remind myself to go to bed so I can wrap things up and make it to bed on time. I feel that I also have substantially less time available for me, even though this is only a 1-2 hour decrease in waking hours. Nor do I feel more awake in the mornings.

The only positive I've found (over this ~2 months of attempted sleep change), on the weekends (when I turn off any alarms) I do now wake up naturally at about 7 hours of sleep without the need for an alarm, and still feel rested (and don't feel the need to sleep in at all.)

Unfortunately the article doesn't mention the upcoming time change in much of the U.S. that plays havoc with sleep and other health factors twice a year....

Of course this has been debunked. And rebunked. And again debunked. Don't lose any sleep over it.

I'm confused about your reply.. Are you posting a link and then immediately discrediting your link? Or are you discrediting the post overall (for something it didn't do)?
