Chiropracy can be a legitimate way to resolve pain caused by structural issues (i.e bones, especially the spine and shoulders but also other junctions) if peformed by a qualified professional (if possibly, an M.D) but that's not really a thing on the other side of the pond, is it?

If anything, adjusting newborns is in 99% of all cases completely useless and any chiropractor worth their salt looking to actually help people and not take the money out of their pockets for useless treatments shouldn't do it.

Doesn't matter whether the person also holds an MD, the things chiropractic does have no basis in science.

        including stroke and death

Obviously, if you do it in an unsafe manner, which is why it should be done by medical professionals and not people who visited a 2-week course 3 years ago.

That being said, by knowledge here is anecdotal at best (I have a surgeon in the family who also has a chiropractical practice, who's learned it at university and also from his father, an M.D as well). He mostly deals with back pain and has so far solved everyone's pain, which is why people actually travel quite a distance to get to his practice.

It does however come with significant placebo and 'woo' effect, which is the same reason scientology's mental health healings 'work'. And with about the same moral depravity or delusion required to practice it.
