My sleep mask is falling apart. I'm in the market for a new one. I could just get any 15 euro mask but it seems like it's a category of products that is riddled with cheap crap and overpriced gadgetry.

I don't mind a high budget mask if it's legitimately good quality and will last a long time. I'm also open to try the "smart masks" that can play music or white noise or whatever but again, it has to be good quality.

Caveat: I'm in europe, and a lot of US brands aren't available here. But if it's really good I can import it.

Looks like governments around the world are going to start releasing tracing apps into the wild very soon. Now it's everybody's personal decision to install it or not.

So my question to you, tilderinos: Are you going to install it? Why or why not? What would change your mind?

I'm wondering what resources people use to aggregate technical or nuanced information primarily for fact-checking claims about anything health-related. Ironically, everyone and their mother appears to be a medical scientist meanwhile as a scientist in the medical field myself, I feel overwhelmed to answer questions properly.

Recently I found the website Health Feedback which seems to be reliable, though confirmation of that would be great. They appear to be on top of anything COVD-19-related.

Another source I use for nutritional stuff is Examine but for now I'm more interested in relevant and recent health "news" topics.

I'm sure something everyone has wondered at this point is simply what the plan is after the lockdown. Out of what's circulating in public policy circles, Paul Romer's plan is the probably the one with the most appealing results

Basically, mass random testing--specifically, 7% of the population is tested every day, or 21 million, selected randomly.

Of course, 21 million random tests is an absurd number. But if it could be done, people could to some extent resume life, if the simulations hold to reality.

Have a few things in common. For one, they all involve incredibly advance and detailed contact tracing. They rely on the proliferation of mass surveillance similar to HK, where all US citizens would have to install apps, for instance, that track their location and ping them when they have been in contact with a COVID19 positive patient.

They also involve extreme limitations on travel, and one of them even has the forced drafting of immune citizens into the medical and food industries.

It's estimated about 80% of the economy could continue, and they will last until the minimum of vaccine (18 months - 2 years) or 14-20 months (herd immunity is achieved).

I’m seeing him get a lot of negative press on how he has handled it, but I personally don’t see what he has done wrong so I’m interested in what others think about it, has he handled it wrong or are the press just looking for someone to blame?
