    March 1-4, 2022 Daily Virtual Sessions

    Tuesday, March 1st, 6:00 pm, Working with Wildlife, Dan Pearson, St. Louis Audubon Society, Coordinator of the Bring Conservation Home Program Human hostility toward wildlife eating food crops has come with great cost to all involved. The idea that people are separate from and superior to nature creates a tension that sucks all of the joy out of growing food. In this session, learn how to provide space and habitat for wildlife to coexist with us, and see a wide variety of mutually beneficial outcomes.

    Wednesday, March 2nd, 6:00 pm, Seed Starting Basics for a Homegrown Harvest, Jessica Blessing-Patterson, DIG Annuals and Perennials In this session you will learn the basic principles of starting seeds at home from one of the experts! There are lots of tips and tricks that can solve some of the common problems encountered with indoor growing. Once mastered, starting your own seeds at home can provide you with lots of beautiful plants at a fraction of the cost and also with hours of much needed joy in the cold winter months.

    Thursday, March 3rd, 6:00 pm, Getting Produce to Those Who Need it Most, Janett Lewis, Rustic Roots Sanctuary, GROW Spanish Lake Community Garden The Rustic Roots Sanctuary, also the location of the GROW Spanish Lake Community Garden, a member of the Seed St. Louis network, works hard to distribute fresh produce to community members. Learn all about their process, including a farmers market, senior delivery program and a free pick-your-own program.

    Friday, March 4th, 6:00 pm, Propagating Shrubs & Trees, Jessica Blessing-Patterson, DIG Annuals and Perennials In this session learn the many different options for propagating both trees and shrubs. From Pre-treatment for seeds, to some very passive cloning techniques, the presenter, co-owner of DIG Annuals and Perennials, will cover the best methods of propagation for the home gardener.
