Reddit uses vote fuzzing as an anti-spam measure, and AFAIK there is no way for a user to get an accurate vote counts as a result. You can literally just keep refreshing a post over and over, and the count will keep changing even with no new votes actually having been cast. Just go to an old post and do that to see it in action for yourself.

I checked /r/JetLagTheGame to see if anyone else had mentioned it, which they didn't. So I was considering making a post there about it, but none of the JetLag crew seem to be active there so I doubt they would see it. The /r/WendoverProductions subreddit appears to have the crew as mods though, and it's where they posted the #ThatWanakaTree meme: https://redd.it/10kss0w
Surprisingly, nobody seems to have mentioned the vote fuzzing to them there either though. :/ I just made a comment in the finale thread mentioning it though, so hopefully they see it.

I was really worried that Sam and Toby were going to be so far ahead after the ferry, and with such a huge coin advantage, that the rest of the game was going to be an easy win for them. So I'm actually really glad that their ferry got delayed so much, and they screwed up the boat challenge. And the fact that they're likely going to spend 100 of their 115 coins on skipping the upcoming fishing challenge is good too, since that basically resets everything to being even again.

Maybe the future will prove me wrong, but I don't think either team can ever easily cruise to the end in this format. If there's no significant coin difference the team going behind can catch up by chasing the leaders along the same route while not having to do any of the challenges (as we've already seen). If there's a significant coin difference they always have the choice of selecting an alternative route for earning more coins and throwing curses at the leaders from any distance. The leaders, depending on the perceived length of their lead, are encouraged to rush and therefore tend to make fewer coins (skipping or vetoing challenges or picking routes with fewer challenges), which should eventually even things out coin-wise, and being in the alternative route means the leaders can't throw (useful) roadblocks. I think so far they've been doing great at keeping neck and neck.
One thing they could do in the future, if it turns out things aren't quite fully balanced yet, is add a penalty on coin earnings to whichever team is in the lead for challenges cleared while both teams are on the edge of the graph that the challenge is in (so it wouldn't apply if the trailing team takes an alternative route, since that makes it difficult to accurately judge who's leading).
I agree with both of you. I had the same concerns as @cfabbro and I think the trailing team would need some sort of catch up mechanism, because being ahead and having coins just means youโre able...

Another thought: make powerups of the same type more and more expensive; eg 15-25-40-60.

I watched all three episodes back to back last night since my sleep schedule is fucked and I couldn't get any more sleep. I'm really enjoying this one! The game is way, way better designed than the previous one in the US, with real catch-up mechanics and balanced routes and challenges. Though as a beach kid the hole in the sand bit was very funny to watch. I'd have known to veto that one immediately.
I think Toby is a great participant too. She really is visibly luckier than Sam.
Yeah, Toby is a great addition to the game. Don't get me wrong, I like Brian McManus, and love his channel, but he's not nearly as outgoing or energetic as Toby seems to be. Although to be fair,...
Yeah, Toby is a great addition to the game. Don't get me wrong, I like Brian McManus, and love his channel, but he's not nearly as outgoing or energetic as Toby seems to be. Although to be fair, they keep making Brian play while actually jetlagged and operating on next to no sleep, so that's probably not entirely his fault he's so low on energy during the games. :P
Spoilers Hmmm, I wonder if the first challenge had anything to do with their choice. ๐ค Ben enjoys morning drinking on the job, and is an alcoholic, confirmed!!! j/k

Sam: While Ben & Adam have made the surprising decision to go the longer Western route...
Ben: Things have improved dramatically... the first challenge on the West route is to get drunk on a local wine.
Hmmm, I wonder if the first challenge had anything to do with their choice. ๐ค
Adam: After we get one team member drunk on wine, obviously we'll need one person drunk, it'll be Ben since I have to drive.

I noticed that too. Maybe we should tell them!

Anybody know what's up with the Colorado flags?
Scotty Allen (the guy with them) from Strange Parts is from Colorado. So that's probably why.
