Its a father and son crew learning to keep bees. They are great guys and its very bingable, not to mention funny and somewhat educational.
EDIT: not sure if youtube counts as TV, but I figured in this day and age it might as well. Let me know if there is a better place to post.
I have generally been posting YouTube specific stuff to ~misc unless there is a more applicable group, e.g. Computerphile videos to ~comp, Historia Civilis videos to ~humanities, etc. And I think a channel like Bush Bee Man is probably more appropriate in ~misc than ~tv given it's an internet vlog, not a TV show as that term still generally refers to the traditional 30min-1hr episodic format (or longer if a miniseries). At some point a ~videos or ~webseries group will likely be created specifically for content like this but until then it's better in ~misc, IMO.
Counterpoint - I mostly consume YouTube in the same way as other TV: I browse or search through an interface (HTPC, Netflix, iPlayer, etc), select something and watch it, either on the big TV or my laptop, tablet or phone. If someone walked in mid-video, they wouldn't think I was performing a miscellaneous activity, they'd think I was watching TV.
It's a pretty fuzzy line to draw, but personally I would definitely come down on the side of YouTube (mostly) being "TV". I agree that subject specific matter can go in the specific group for that subject but I think it could equally go in tv as well - otherwise what's the point of tv at all, because ultimately everything could go in a different place more specific to it's content than the medium it exists in.
In this instance I could see this series being broadcast by BBC3, BBC4 or NHK, they've all done this kind of episodic documentary shorts from time to time.
This is kinda why I was advocating a possible ~video, ~video.tv and ~video.film type relation in a different thread.
Many people have their own opinion on what could be considered a tv video, but we can at least all agree it is a video.
Though I wonder if lower heirarchies can show through onto the parent group topic listings.
I agree, for now in the current state of the site I think TV is the best place for youtube series, since they basically are a form of TV.
Random youtube videos I could see belonging in ~misc but a series is basically a TV Show on a different shorter format.
As my name might suggest, I am very interested in beekeeping in general. I am going to watch this chap.
Right, I just watched the first one - I do not know if you wanted feedback, but I have some:
Having the stands that wide happens because he cuts them that size, but actually having the hive stand twice as wide as a hive is a good idea anyway, because it gives you somewhere to easily put your supers when working on the brood.
If you put a plastic plate, or a large paint pot lid or something similar between the leg and the base of the stand it really discourages rodents in a big way.
Feedback was the wrong word - discussion would be better.
Episode 2:
This is fun to watch.
They evolve the methods a lot as the series progresses. I am almost caught up to current, I have been watching it over the last month or so. Watching their trial and error and seeing how honest they are about making mistakes is one of the things that I love about the series.
