    Actual experiment (shooting) starts at 14 min, conclusion at 36 min.

    TL;DW - Pistol balls didn't penetrate any of the targes, but musket balls were a mixed bag; Some shots deflected, some embedded, most penetrated, depending on the materials used in the targe, the angle they hit at, and where they struck. But the softwood targe with studs, and a felted wool layer in between the wood layers, was only one to fully stop a musket ball.
