I'm only vaguely aware of one of these: HumanLight. (And I'll admit I had to double-check that.) I didn't know we had a "Day of Reason". I also thought "Darwin Day" was just an informal half-joke,...

    such as recognizing Humanist holidays

Humanists have mentioned different numbers of holidays, and sometimes as few as one.

Humanists also have holidays including National Day of Reason (May 2), Darwin Day (February 12), HumanLight (in December), as well as solstice-related holidays.

Mind you, if you ask different Christians about Christian holidays, I feel pretty sure you're not going to get a consistent answer.

a belief in Humanism, which — like atheism — believes God does not exist.

Wow. These people have no idea. Humanism is a type of atheism, just like Christianity and Hinduism and Islam are types of theism.

This whole article and the situation it describes demonstrates how foreign the idea of non-belief is to a lot of religious people. They simply can't comprehend it, and won't accept it.
