    I came across this article and wanted to share because I think it does a decent job of describing the history here. I was already familiar with the broad strokes, because my SO has Celiac disease....

    I came across this article and wanted to share because I think it does a decent job of describing the history here. I was already familiar with the broad strokes, because my SO has Celiac disease. Though I'm not pleased the discovery came at the hands of oppressive famine, I will be forever grateful for the work of Willem Karel Dicke and others. It is very likely my SO would have died as a small child had she not been diagnosed quickly and accurately.
