I'll echo the other commenters and say that this was great. It's clear, concise, and draws an unbroken line from emancipation to the present day showing how, all along the way, policy has continually changed to ensure disadvantage for black people in the US.

I think it's especially valuable to hear these points coming from a Christian voice and perspective, and I will be sharing this with others I know, including my parents. Thanks for linking this.

I'm really liking the trend of seeing "right-of-center but not insane" voices speak up about systemic racism (other examples I can think of recently are the Boy Scouts changing their policies and NASCAR and the Marines banning the Confederate flag).

It shows that anti-racism and respect for Black lives is truly a human rights issue that can and should transcend our "usual" left/right partisan divide.

Yea this is great, I've already sent it to my immediate family who are all still conservative and religious though fairly open minded.

I knew about a lot of the singular events, but never considered the connection, thinking that they just stacked. This was incredibly well done.

Wow, this was eye opening! I see that The New Jim Crow is listed as a source, and I've been meaning to read that. I should probably get to that soon.

Bleh... I didn't know that, and it definitely severely taints my opinion of him. But on this video, at least, his heart seemed to be in the right place, hence why I shared it. If only he would...

because Vischer has been vocally anti gay marriage.

If only he would listen to his own advice about asking people to "care" at the end of this video, but learn to apply it to us LGBTQ+ people too. :(

This goes back to the cultural norm where people feel the need that they have to agree with everything anyone says or else they can't support them at all. It's a strong reason for why everyone is constantly divided. Consider nuance. Just because you don't agree with every position a public figure espouses doesn't mean you can't agree with anything they espouse.

I strongly supported Bernie Sanders for President, but I don't agree with his stance on abortion. Still can listen to him and encourage other people to support him because of his other policies regarding healthcare, prison reform, etc.

This video is pretty great at presenting the case. A sources list would be the cherry on top. There's no sources in the description. Are they anywhere else?

There's a few sources listed at the end of the video, but they're for the couple of books that where mentioned and not any of the studies unfortunately. None are listed in the comments either...
