    It's really strange how thanks to needing to be competitive on the national level or turn the US into a 1-party state, the parties have changed their political leanings to the point where they have basically switched roles compared to when they were made. That makes many parts of the right to claim Lincoln was one of them, even though he wasn't, and creates the claim that the Democrats are the real racists today, which is comical.
