Americans are famously ethnocentric and ignorant of other cultures. Y'all are getting better, but you still got a long way to go. Cut the Aussies some slack. (Although maybe not too much slack, Aussies have states, so should be better at understanding the distinction of state law vs federal law than most.)
I just worried that is too close to 'depression', which is already a valid tag regarding mental health. So I went with @9000's suggestion of 'downer' instead. :)
