In conclusion, may I say that Brazil and the United States stand side by side in their efforts to ensure liberties and respect to the traditional family lifestyles and respect to God, our creator, against the gender ideology and the politically correct attitudes and against fake news.”

May I voice my admiration and recognition to president Donald Trump on this beautiful day where we seal the promising alliance between the two most promising and largest democracies in the Western hemisphere...

You can nit pick the title of this post if you want, but the truth remains that the president of brazil is very very anti-LGBT, and is clearly seeking acceptance from Trump and his supporters.

EDIT: well now you pretty much have to read the topic log to see that the original link that OP posted is not the link currently, and the topic has completely changed by the site owner. It seems the site runners can change any topic/title/post we put up to fit their ideal views. This comment is no longer relative.

This seems pretty sensationalized. Even the article itself says: Here's the actual section of the press conference: https://youtu.be/J8DAn1KcWxI?t=703

Trump did not respond to those comments, but he smirked when Bolsonaro mentioned “fake news.”

There's still a bit of a story in that he's nodding along with all of that, so I can maybe see some use in keeping the post up...but I wouldn't miss it either :P

I don't know if it's worth fretting over the details of it (or even keeping this specific link), but I wonder if it would be better as something like:

Trump nods along as Bolsonaro says their countries are united for "traditional family lifestyles", and against gender ideology, politically correct attitudes, and fake news.

      Here's the full quote:

Overall, maybe just a link to the entire press conference video is best, instead of focusing on one 10-second span of an event over 20 minutes long (and that detail could still be in the comments).

Might it be worthwhile removing this topic and having @dubteedub submit the other article in a fresh topic that isn't derailed with meta discussion?

That's up to @dubteedub, they can delete this one and resubmit if they like. I could remove everything too, but that might be a bit weird. This is definitely a more general problem we should try...

This is definitely a more general problem we should try to address at some point though. I'd like some way to split off all the meta discussions, especially when they become totally obsolete after they lead up to a change that gets made.
