This doesn't surprise me, even in the slightest. What does surprise me are the number of LGBTQ+ friends I have that eat there. To say I don't get it puts it mildly. It's one thing to have these views, it's quite another to chuck money at them. I don't get putting your money toward people who will use that money to hurt you. Mediocre chicken sandwiches aren't that compelling.

It took me awhile to get on the bandwagon of boycotting chik fil a, and I think repeatedly surfacing the abhorrent things that they do can help people make the decision. If you know people who are still on the fence or are still eating there, please send articles like this their way.

Yeah I'm sadly aware of how most people treat it. However, they absolutely have had a PR campaign to try and wash away their sins and paint them in a good light and some people may have fallen prey to this. If you keep sending them articles about what new atrocities they are committing, you might be able to change the minds of a few of them. This is the first time I've heard of them pushing anti-trans stuff, and some of the people you know may be receptive to this message.

How is it weird? Vinegar complements spice pretty well. I feel like you're just going to lose people with this argument (even if it is off the cuff) since the last 60 years have proven fried chicken and pickles to be an extremely popular combination.

I mean, I wasn't speaking in a scientific sense. I thought it was pretty clear from when I used the term mediocre that my feeling about the actual food was opinion. I don't personally like pickles and chicken. It's a flavor combination that I do not enjoy. To me, they are weird. Hell, weird is something that can't even be objective, I feel like weird is one of those words that is always opinion, given that one person's weird is another person's everyday. Some people think the whole concept of iced coffee is weird, but it's a huge market.

You fry your pickles over there? Dear gods, that sounds as bad as fried bread! D:

Well, they don't fry the pickles. (For CFA. Fried pickles are a thing, though.) They put dill pickle sliced on fried chicken sandwiches. It's... about exactly as it sounds.

Oh. Well, I enjoy the pickles (and all the other trimmings) in McD's double cheeseburgers, so I suppose that isn't particularly odd.

I, too, enjoy pickles on burgers. I like pickles. I like fried chicken. It's the two together I don't care for.

For fried chicken and pickles, they don't fry the pickles. Fried pickles on their own are a staple of southern cuisine though. Usually with ranch dipping sauce.

Even though that is not what people are talking about regarding Chick-Fil-A, Deep fried pickles are actually fucking delicious. They're a pub food staple in many parts of the world, and I've seen them on the menu in various places in the Southern US, the UK, and even up here in Canada. Hell, the largest Pizza delivery chain here in Toronto even has them on the menu since they're so popular. Don't knock 'em 'til you try 'em!
