    I support the goal of women's equality, but it feels weird to me to say that Iceland is powered by two things, geothermal and women.

      The actual quote is even worse: I couldn't help but mentally picture hundreds of Icelandic women running their asses off in giant hamster wheels to power a foundry or something. The whole piece...

      The actual quote is even worse:

      The nation is now “powered by two sustainable energies: geothermal power and girl power”, said Tómasdóttir.

      I couldn't help but mentally picture hundreds of Icelandic women running their asses off in giant hamster wheels to power a foundry or something.

      The whole piece has a strange tone to it. "Still no paradise" is a weird phrase to even include in a piece of journalism, much less hang a headline on.

        because this is not news it's propaganda. This doesn't mean good or bad just that it's not news. Real news doesn't have salacious editorialization in the middle of an article.
