Tempted to order something then complain it hasn't turned up on time and ask for a refund, just to log a number in the "this is hurting our reputation/profits" column.

I have seen it yield results, depends on the circumstances. In companies where strikes previously were unheard of it can give a strong enough signal that people are willing to get organised and more importantly that they actually are.
I have seen instances where this was a wake up call and previously ignored issues by the company were taken more seriously. Or at the very least made them willing to join the table and start talking.
In this instance what could strengthen the message is that it seems to be a global effort.
Generally speaking, yeah more is often needed than just one day.

I hate to be pessimistic, but Amazon has been running "Black Friday" deals for a while now (as have many other outlets) I don't think a strike on Black Friday proper will make all that much...
