    I feel for the people who lost their homes and livelihoods in the wildfires, but I think rebuilding Paradise is a perfect example of our infuriating mindset with regards to climate change and...

    I feel for the people who lost their homes and livelihoods in the wildfires, but I think rebuilding Paradise is a perfect example of our infuriating mindset with regards to climate change and natural disasters. Just like we shouldn't let people build homes in flood plains, communities shouldn't be built in areas prone to forest fires. This is only going to get worse as times goes on. I'd rather these people be given some sort of stipend to relocate than have their homes be rebuilt. It's not about making homes in disaster areas more flood or fire resistant, it's about people not living in those places in the first place.
