There sure are a lot of pro only bike lanes in Australia. The bike path that goes from my house to work stops at a spot where you have to cross a 6 lane freeway with no crossing lights. I didn't actually think it could be done until I saw a pro do it and saw that you don't cross the road, you merge in to it like a car and keep shifting over a lane until you get to the other side. Now I can do it fairly well but there is just no way a casual rider would ever even try that even if they knew how to do it.
