I tried to read this article but gave up when I found it to be too long-winded with many evidence-free assertions. Just a warning for anyone else thinking of diving in... Maybe there's a better...

What evidence are you looking for here? This was one person's thoughts about Yale and its role in the world, and I'm not sure that there's a study that could prove or disprove their opinions.

Well, for one thing, I didn't get far enough for her to start really talking about Yale (see: long-winded). I'm not going to dispute her own personal experiences.

As a second thing, I am deeply uninterested in getting into a debate over minutia of the article. I will present one example that particularly stood out to me.

The primary issue is that I fundamentally don't seem to share her perspective on rich vs. poor, but she writes the article from an angle as if I already agree with what she's saying. So when she throws out what feels like throwaway lines to her, like this one, I feel like it needs more explanation, not just an assertion:

And when something does need to be challenged in elite thought, not in the fake, recuperated way that Greta Thunberg ritually challenges an already-supportive crowd at Davos, but in the real way that carries personal risk—we bail.

I don't know where she's coming from with this cheap shot at Greta, nor do I agree that people readily bail when challenging elite thought. This seems to be an important part of her argument - that we never challenge elite thought - but what if I don't agree? It makes it hard to continue on with the article, when she assumes unchallenged agreement.
