      It's easy to understand that when a website updates their layout, themes, styles and such, the old content on the website also benefits. But I never quite made the connection with how this keeps old content in an always present state. How it keeps the past grounded in the present.

      This was on my watchlist for weeks and I'm glad I finally got to it. The illusion of time is one I've thought about since I was a kid, but this video made me profoundly think about my perception of the present, not just the past.

      Digital spaces are filled with not just what's said, but what has been said. And it's all there, not tucked into a library across town or on a tiny plaque on a statue covered in bird poop, it's in our hands. And outside of time.

      Social media is so packed with timeless messages from bygone people that we don't even ask "is anyone here?" anymore. Instead we ask: "is anyone now?"
