I like the hyphenated too. My wife’s aunt and uncle hyphenated their last names since they are both common names. Her other aunt took her husband’s last name, but because she had a PhD professionally she used her maiden name. For 90% of people we meet they won’t know or care who took who’s last name. For most that do know, it probably doesn’t matter since you care about the person rather than the name.
