From what I observed in the live streams and anecdotal accounts of residents, there was community support for and appreciation of the participants. You can see throughout the live streams, a healthy number of elder participants, in their fanny packs and holding hands. It was pretty adorable and heart warming. Of course there were isolated incidents of troublemakers and provocateurs in general. It's unfortunate that it seems property is valued over people by leadership in this town. Nonetheless, this was a heart warming and uplifting example of solidarity in action.

A year after fascists with torches marched through the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia, anarchists and other anti-racists who traveled there to shut down their rally returned to support locals in observing the anniversary of those events. Defying a massive police mobilization aimed at suppressing all freedom to demonstrate, hundreds marched around downtown for hours. The following hasty report was submitted by some of the out-of-town participants.
