Shocker. Burning Man traffic being ultra scrutinized. Just like traffic out of Washington or Colorado. The cops are profiling.

Yep. Never been pulled over more times than a trip from Colorado to South Florida with Christmas gifts in the trunk. At one point state cops held us in Mississippi for 30 minutes and threatened to get the dogs, they pulled us over at 12:30 am going the speed limit on the highway. We said go for it but the dogs were busy already so they let us go. We didn't want them to ruin the gifts in the trunk, and we had nothing on us. Glad we stood our ground and denied them the search but it was pretty nerve wracking. Gotta be very careful on certain routes during certain times of the year. For what it's worth I was driving a $50,000 Sedan and I am white, they're obviously profiling for drug trafficking.

I would never tell someone not to drive late at night because they should be able to drive whenever they damn well please, but you still gotta be careful if you’re out then particularly in unfamiliar rural areas. Law enforcement has a heightened level of suspicion and will use DUI checkpoints for easy profiling. Glad you came out unscathed.

I was already used to being cautious from traveling through Texas, there are so many small no-name towns that only exist because of the Sheriff and the road going from 50 mph to 15 mph all of a sudden with 1 warning sign. I would never travel with something illegal on me in the deep South, it's not worth the risk.

There have been a few articles on the topic. It honestly is profiling.

Oh man, I regularly drive up to Wyo from CO to go camping, visit friends and buy fireworks and such (like twice a year).

Almost every time I get pulled over by their state patrol, it's really getting old. I am a Coloradan sure, but I don't even smoke.

Its obvious profiling, they usually give some BS reason they pulled me over for and I always am let go no problem.
