Recommendations for a great podcast? What are you listening to?

I am a big CGP Grey fan and have recently been diving into 'Hello Internet' and 'Cortex' and really I love both of them.

I have never been much of a podcast listener until recently, but I do enjoy some of the stuff NPR puts out (like Radiolab).

I've started listening to 99% Invisible a bit more heavily recently, and I'm really enjoying it. The host is very good at telling stories and explaining things in a way that's very easy to take in :)

All my recommendations were in the last thread as well, but I listen to the religiously

Talk Python - Long form interviews primarily about notable Python projects

PythonBytes - Short discussion style podcast where two people discuss notable events, changes, and projects within or relevant to Python

Stuff you should know - Two guys talking about interesting topics, usually with deep research into the history and tons of details. I didn't know that I needed to know so much about ballpoint pens, or grass, or plenty of other topics.

I listen to a few music podcasts as well, Brennan Heart's WE R HARDSTYLE and Isaac's Hardstyle Sessions are great if you like hardstyle. Otherwise, just finding a good music podcast is a great way to keep up with new music in genres you enjoy

I'm sure you've heard of Welcome To Nightvale (which is amazing fiction, and I love it dearly), but you should know WTN is part of a larger network of podcasts, including:

Alice Isn't Dead (a personal favorite which is coming to a close soon)

The Orbiting Human Circus Of The Air (another fiction about reality being slightly damaged; set in a fictional radio studio atop the Eiffel Tower)

Within The Wires (a dystopic tale told through the medium of secretly modified relaxation cassette tapes)

    and

Conversations With People Who Hate Me (finding common ground and exploring differences with people who were huge assholes on and offline; surprisingly pleasant and insightful)

    If you like fiction podcasts:

Welcome to Night Vale - a surrealist comedy horror podcast, usually episodic in nature

Alice isn't Dead - A girl travels across country to find her missing wife, and gets tangled in a paranormal world. It perfectly captures the mood and feeling of a long road trip by yourself.

TANIS - A mystery/conspiracy story presented as though it is real. It's compelling, well composed, and keeps your interest. It blends real life historical events with fiction.

    If you like nonfiction podcasts:

Philosophize This - Great philosophy podcast that is approachable to someone with no philosophy background but is interested in the subject.

The Partially Examined Life - A more intermediate philosophy podcast with really indepth and entertaining discussion.

If you like crime stuff, Real Crime Profile is excellent.

Join Jim Clemente (Retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent/Profiler), Laura Richards (criminal behavioral analyst, former New Scotland Yard) and Lisa Zambetti (Casting director for CBS’ Criminal Minds) as they profile behavior from real criminal cases.

The OJ series (starting at episode 7) is truly excellent. Make sure your podcast app has a volume leveler, though -- their recording skills leave a lot of room for improvement.
