    Just my opinion here, but children are a pretty good distillation and amplification of their parents' behaviour. They have no capacity yet to form their own dogma and mirror their parents words...

    Just my opinion here, but children are a pretty good distillation and amplification of their parents' behaviour. They have no capacity yet to form their own dogma and mirror their parents words and actions because that's the example they're being consistently shown. If their parents are emboldened racists, then those kids are going to start acting like emboldened racists. Most of these kids don't actually harbour real hatred in their hearts, however by repeating this behaviour it's going to become their actual way of life and this cycle of bigotry will continue to thrive.

    I have no solution to propose here, but I will say that I have observed my own prejudices and biases diminish the more time I spend with others whom I previously directed them to, and the more I see that all people are pretty much the same. We all want to be healthy, happy, feel safe, and be fulfilled. There are assholes in every tribe and they shouldn't represent the majority just because they may have the loudest voices.
