Maybe it's that I'm a naturally a conflict-averse person, but it kinda feels that recently we broke something in America where a significant amount of people would rather run things to the ground then eat our pride and make things better for everyone, and I have no idea how to deal with it. Obviously I have less skin in the game then somebody of less privilege, and maybe it's naive of me to think that Politics wasn't always a cyclical, bipartisan endeavor of saving the country from the other side's ignorance, but if vengeance and greed as self interest is a primary swing for elections, we're not in a good spot, are we?

If it makes you feel any better, my amateur investigations of American history have led me to believe that this is the case.
