Brandan Andrew Clark, 21, allegedly killed fellow influencer Bianca Devins, a 17-year-old from Utica, New York, in his car and, according to police, posted photos of the body to Instagram, 4chan, and Discord.

According to Utica police, the couple had just attended a concert together and were in a relationship.

    redpill shit

Does it seem...irresponsible to anyone else to frame this (in the title and much of the article) as influencer fuckery or something like that? My early reactions were focused on the influencer bit, thinking that popular social media and the cults of personality that go on there have gone so far. But from what it looks like, this is yet another example of the kind of thing we've seen come out of radicalization in redpill / alt-right / whatever communities for a while now. This sounds much more related to the shit that festers on 4chan than anything with Instagram, even if they're intertwined in this case.

Unnerving and sickening to read, regardless. The irony, "humor," and self-awareness of the murderer and their little community is horrifying, like it's all a show. Ugh.

Yeah, this is really weird. Does the writer think that "influencer" means "person with an Instagram account", or something? What makes either of these people an "influencer"? The article even...

The article even spells his name wrong (it's "Brandon", as shown in the screenshot right above). It's a pretty bad article all around.

I'm probably going to rewrite the title to something different, but not sure what yet.

Edit: actually, going to remove this temporarily while I read some other articles and sort through this a little. This whole thing is a mess.
