An interesting article for sure, though I would've definitely wished that the author removed her opinions more from it, writing it more like a direct interview. The supposed "cool" sentences make my eyes especially roll.

Claiming that the alt-right (which isn't even properly defined) is a more mysoginistic version of the white supremacy movement is a little out there, to be honest. The two definitely correlate, but if anything I'd claim that the alt-right is more of a stepping stone towards more hateful movements like white supremacy and others, as it mostly only exists on the internet in places like 4chan's /pol/ where you often can't quite tell if a post is being serious or just making jokes using bigoted language.

On K herself, keep doing what you're doing. And add more people to whatever exactly your profession is called.

The author missed the opportunity of doing a very interesting interview. This reads more as a (rather mediocre) opinion column spiced up with some quotes from K than as an interview article. It's a shame, as I'm sure K's perspective on this subject is quite more interesting and insightful than that of a "7 things list" Cosmo journalist.

I completely agree. K on her own seems like a much more interesting person to talk to than whoever wrote the article. This would've been much better if instead of every "sHe HuNtS tHe MeN wHo HaTe WoMeN" picture there would've been an actual question and answer from K.

To put it short, I'd rather have this piece written by an actual investigative journalist.

While I tend to agree with you, I can't give you an exact answer because the term isn't properly defined. Even on places like r/KotakuInAction you'll find a wild variance of opinions. They don't even have to be mysoginistic, though they disregard modern feminism as useless, usually while pointing at people like Big Red (i.e the lady with short red hair that tends to go off at people, you've probably seen a video of her) saying that that's what modern feminism represents and that's why they dislike it. They often tend to focus on the worse parts of the movement and claim that that's all there is.

By now the hype around Gamergate has died down, so it's probably even radicalized further as most people who came into the movement precisely because of ethical drama in the game journalism scene have left or gotten a life (like I did), so all that remains are "hardcore fans".

"Alt-right" is rarely a label people associate themselves with, it's more of a label put on people, and even then it varies from people posting edgy memes on Reddit and 4chan to actual nazis.

Didn't the alt-right really become prominent during the Gamergate situation?

It definitely gained traction around the same time (during the 2016 presidential election) and I think decent chunk of people labelled the movement as alt-right, but I don't know how closely they are connected.

          Ironic racism is simply racism.
