This is pretty short, but mildly interesting. Would be nice to see it continued with further chapters.

I'm still waiting for an explanation of what improbable sequence of events led to Giuliani's press conference actually happening in the parking lot of Four Seasons Total Landscaping. How did no one in Trump's image-obsessed inner circle not hit the brakes on that debacle before it fully materialized?

As someone who's worked for their fair share of incompetent bosses, I think a long-suffering and low-level staffer did it to them deliberately. Also, the first speaker at the event is a convicted sex offender who did time for exposing himself to minors. Other Redditors alleged that he's also been arrested for domestic abuse and has done time again for failing to pay approximately 70,000 USD in child support. One said he was ". . . either lying about living in Philly and committing fraud himself, or he committed a felony by moving to Philly and failing to register as a sex offender . . .", while another claimed that they checked the Philadelphia register and he wasn't on it.

As someone else pointed out in the comments, though, it was an admittedly fitting choice of venue for a self-styled party of lawn order.

While it doesn't provide the explanation you're looking for, I recently read another interesting article you may also find interesting too. It's written much like the one @mrbig submitted, in that it's also a gonzo style/first-person account from a journalist, but this one was present at the "Four Seasons" debacle:

I saw Donald Trump’s presidency come crashing down at Four Seasons Total Landscaping

I found myself hoping that porno store owner did good business that day. I like a nice, happy ending.

How is this even an article? There's no substance what so ever and it seems like a journalist from Albania could have written the same thing....from home.

I believe it’s an interesting report from someone following the president, with evocative images of the general climate surrounding the presidency right now. It doesn’t contain much opinion, or even surprising revelations, and that’s fine by me. That’s why I put this in ~misc instead of ~news.

In Portuguese we’d call this a crônica. Which can be just a collection of events, general impressions, etc. The English speaking world, specially places where techies congregate, seem highly focused on metrics such as “information density”—sometimes to a fault, IMHO.

I see. Nothing personal but what's interesting about it? It supposedly comes from and "insider" or is sold as such and if crônica is supposed to be informal, observational and sometimes humorous tone it hits maybe one of those metrics. I'm just trying to understand the reason to even write this when it brings almost nothing to the table.

And crônicas are a lot more than Wikipedia is conveying. That’s actually something I may write about in the future, since (apart from song genres) AFAIK the crônica is the only major writing format unique to Brazil and not something easy to explain to outsiders.

Maybe so, but first I have to translate a few crônicas and explain it in length. We literally learn it in school. Not a small task!

That's probably it - I'm open to broaden my horizons if I stumble upon it again.

Plenty of articles get written about the details of major historical events for future reference. The news doesn't exist solely to teach you, specifically, new things. Throwing this kind of shade at articles people post is extremely rude and adds nothing valuable to the discussion. If it's not interesting to you just scroll past.

It's no fun trying to "help" a site out when its users are so intent on critiquing every post and comment you submit. It's not toxic per se, but it's a level of passive aggressive that's frustrating to deal with and irritating.

If there's one change I could make, it'd be getting rid of dumb comments that seek to only criticise presumably good faith submission and comments on the basis of merely existing.

It's a vignette. It lacks detail, but it gets across in a visceral way a notion I expect many tilders share with me-the President is all bluster and bravado, and as of now, knows that he has lost.

I think it's the catharsis. If you're unhappy with President Trump, this article is going to make you feel good. Substance is important but sometimes I just want to hear some journalist tier gossip.
