I only recently watched Willow, after it having been on my watchlist and shelf for a few years. I really enjoyed it! I am excited to see it continuted, I really enjoyed how different it felt from modern fantasy and action movies, Willow didn't embody the power/ego trip that I feel happens in a lot of newer movies.

spoilers Loved that Willow didn't need ultra power magic to win in the end and just used good ole slight of hand!

Not that I don't have vague fond memories of Willow (and the corresponding quite solid NES game), but this feels like a deeper nostalgia dive than I would have otherwise expected. I don't know that I even remember what Willow was actually about enough to appreciate it. Perhaps there's some people in their mid to late 40s who'll really appreciate this? It's not like The Labyrinth, which had ongoing fan appreciation.

For a long time, Willow was the only game in town for High Fantasy. I want to go back and watch it again now to see if it holds up, but it was tremendous fun when I was little.

My memories are also vague, I don't know that I've ever seen it since the early 90s and I'm not even certain I've actually seen it (or at least all of it) at all since my parents would likely have not allowed it at the time. At best I may have seen an edited-for-TV version years after release.

Now though, I'm definitely compelled to dig it up and watch it again.
