    I thought apes reboot 1 was okay but apes reboot 2 and 3 were much too macho for me, more violent, confrontational plotting. I recommend the 1974 planet of the apes tv show with the rubber masks!...

    I thought apes reboot 1 was okay but apes reboot 2 and 3 were much too macho for me, more violent, confrontational plotting. I recommend the 1974 planet of the apes tv show with the rubber masks! The stories are fairly various and it only lasted 14 episodes before being cancelled on a cliffhanger, absolutely classic.

    Edit: "classic" here is being used very loosely to mean "was on TV before I was alive" so YMMV but I'm telling you it's pretty okay

      Went to see the second with a friend. He couldn't stop laughing saying "the chimpanzee's got a fucking AK-47!!!". Talked about it the whole ride home. Good times. Good movies. I wasn't aware...

      Good movies. I wasn't aware they're considered masterpieces. I did enjoy the first more than the second. Never saw the third.

      Weird you feel that way most people felt that the new Apes films are masterpieces, especially the Matt Reeves ones. Personally I really liked Rise and Dawn, but thought that War was too slow and...
