I have and struggle with fomo.

My watchlist is comprised of movies friends or just the general public told me was good and is pretty much bottomless (I also throw movies in there I want to watch just to "make sure they suck," as I tell others, because sometimes it might be good, like 2011's The Thing, which I thought was pretty good).

Coupled with that, my wife and I love horror (typically paranormal or found footage) and have been scraping the bottom of the barrel lately. When Halloween Ends came out, we hated it. I was disappointed because I thought the 2017 reboot was actually really good, and was hoping Halloween Kills was going to be a necessary bridge movie that was bad for the sake of going somewhere with a bigger vision in the final chapter... no, the third was bad as well, and was like a crappy(ier) Riverdale episode.

So I was left wanting a good slasher, and watched-- because its sequel had just come out and was highly-rated-- Terrifier, which-- to my snobbish self I guess-- was terrible. It's just a practical effects showreel hamstrung by horrible cinematography and zero plot. It had nothing going for it other than someone's insatiable desire to kill people as gruesomely as possible.

And I've heard the sequel is better and I just know I'm going to watch it eventually to see how bad it is, but like... I want a good slasher. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just like the grit every now and again.

If anyone has good recommendations, I'm all ears. Preferably something with some sort of story. Even a series would do.
