Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is a great movie for superhero nerds
Even if you're only lightly aware of superhero movie tropes and the criticisms of the genre in general, you will have a lot of gags to laugh at.
I know a lot of people my age (20s-30s) will be reluctant to see the movie if they were fans of the original Teen Titans show and haven't watched Teen Titans Go! (which I think is fair). But those are the people who will enjoy it the most.
It is a kids' movie, no doubt about it. But I'd put it in the vein of the Lego Movie, which still had a lot to offer if you're an adult.
Just wondering...have you seen Teen Titans Go tv series? How does the movie compare to that?
I watch the show pretty regularly with my 10 year old, and it's essentially a long episode with a bigger budget and more superhero nerd-focused humor. The "let's shit on robin" mood has also dialed back a bit, as has the "robin is legit a psychopath" theme.
Cool. Thanks.
It seems like it's going to be a great movie for everyone to be honest. My daughter loves the teen titans, so I've sat down and watched it from time to time. While not the best show in the world, I like that it has a good message of friendship and helping each other. The show has its share of funny moments and I'm a little more excited for it than i would like to admit.
It was a lot better than I expected, even as someone who watches the show with my kid regularly.
