With great actors, it's sometimes difficult to specify what particular skill they brought that separates their work from the quality of the film as a whole. They seamlessly and invisibly make the production better. Bruno Ganz had that ability. It's a shame his work isn't better known, and I'm sorry I won't get to see him in new roles.

i'll say in my limited viewing of films which he was involved in during his lifetime: the man knew how to act and was damn good at what he did.
