I didn't laugh once at this trailer. I say that as someone who once thought Kevin Smith movies were the funniest movies in the world. I've seen Mallrats and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back more times than I can count.

I think I've just outgrown Kevin Smith's humor. I respect the cottage industry he's built on the Kevin Smith brand, and if he can keep making money creating the movies he wants to make, good for him. He's basically turned into the Lloyd Kaufman of stoner comedies. It just isn't for me anymore.

Looking back now, there are moments of greatness in most of his movies, but most of it just puerile humor. Of course there's a place for that. But I'm not a 15 year old boy anymore, so it just doesn't appeal to me like it used to.

I do still think that Clerks: The Animated Series is a fantastic show and probably the best thing he's ever done.

Two decades of drug abuse will do that to a man.

It should be mentioned that he's reportedly been clean since 2010.

True. If I recall, that was one of the reasons Kevin Smith agreed to do the movie.

I've never truly laughed at a Kevin Smith movie with maybe the exception of Clerks and Matt Damon in Dogma, but I'm also suuuuuper square and don't think the comedy's ever been aimed at me. I'm more of a dumb humor guy like Michael Showalter's stuff, Kids in the Hall, or even the ol' Police Squad/Airplane stuff.

That said I'm happy to see them still doing their thing at least. I'm sure I'll-- at some point in my life-- have this on in the background while I'm playing some mindless game.

I'm looking forward to this on a purely nostalgia trip. I love Kevin when he's being himself, on stage or a podcast, but I haven't loved a movie of his since J&SBSB.
