Wired posted What Black Widow's $60 Million Disney+ Haul Actually Means, where they gave numbers of $80 million domestic, $78 million international, and $60 million through Premier Access, and implies that simultaneous release across streaming and theaters could become a thing depending on the movie. Is that something that we would want?

Works for me! Most of the time I'm just going to wait for them to roll over onto the streaming I'm already paying for, sometimes it's nice to take a trip out to the cinema, but yeah, sometimes I'll be happy to pay to see something right this minute in my own living room. Extra choice seems good in this context.

The cost of living where I am probably helps the relative value of it, too. It's £19.99 for premier access, which is a decent bit less than tickets & a small snack for two people would be anywhere near me; it's the same price as a single ticket on its own if you go to the fancy cinema!

Disney said Tuesday that it is opening both of its key summer events pics Cruella and Marvel’s Black Widow simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access (which is usually $30 a purchase extra for subscribers) in most Disney+ markets on Friday, May 28 and Friday, July 9, respectively. It also shifted release dates on five other films.
