What have you been listening to this week?

What have you been listening to this week? You don't need to do a 6000 word review if you don't want to, but please write something! If you've just picked up some music, please update on that as well, we'd love to see your hauls :)

Feel free to give recs or discuss anything about each others' listening habits.

I'm not sure if it was intentionally a PR move, but thanks to Neil Young pulling his music from Spotify, I've been listening to a ton of Neil Young.

It's relaxing and warm to serenade feelings, with layers of stimulation to stoke the mind. Keeps you in a very focused state, I find.

Check this album out, if you'd like: Segue - Pacifica

(uBlock recommended for youtube, of course)

Since Black Country, New Road dropped an EP last week, I've been on a big prog rock / math rock kick. If anyone has recs for other groups (e.g. tricot, black midi, etc.) please share!

That first track, Snow Globes, felt like something right out of a movie soundtrack, played during some big, dramatic, emotional scene. Loved it!

I have started listening to Exhorder for my lifting motivation music. Shit is toight. Super aggressive, super high energy, and super good in general. They and Pantera are the progenitors of groove metal to the best of my knowledge. (And probably Black Sabbath, but they created everything 😅) only hard part to deal with is the fact that they only have 3 albums, and one one single. I'll probably switch to Pantera after I make my way through them
