What have you been listening to this week? You don't need to do a 6000 word review if you don't want to, but please write something! If you've just picked up some music, please update on that as well, we'd love to see your hauls :)

Overall, I'd call this a good mix of genres. I'm not sure if there's a common thread for any of these, except being pretty electronic-heavy? My most listened artist was Tame Impala, so no surprise there either.

They've been together for a while as a 3 piece, but they're added more people for live (and now for their album) and it's a great change because this just rollicks along. Obvious comparisons with Pogues, which is a shame because they are their own thing. I'm looking forward to much more from this band.

I feel like posting links to NPR Tiny Desks is easy mode because they're consistently fantastic, but I'm also a bit obsessed by this. Lankum - The Wild Rover. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCLFShptAIA

I love the way it just builds and builds - I love the wall of sound they get from such a small set of instruments. I also really liked Bear Creek in this set. I think I like the harmonising rounds that build and develop, and then the small pipes kick in and it all lifts.

Radie Peat (the woman in this band) has an interview here and I found it useful to understand what Lankum are about: https://journalofmusic.com/opinion/what-you-say-when-you-look-world-interview-radie-peat-and-daragh-lynch-lankum and another video interview here which goes into some detail about just how dark these songs are (and they are pretty dark, I feel the need for content warnings) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F5ZtnCUN-4

Clicking your link gives me a 403 forbidden page, but searching "lankum" from the site's front page leads me to two topics, and one of them has a bunch of links to music new to me. Thank you!

Oh, right. I forgot that we can't share links to our user searches, since users can't search other users' posts for privacy reasons. I should have just shared a link to the tag instead.
