And if you like this one, today they posted a cover of an Iron Maiden song that's just as good.

Power/fantasy metal is usually a great starting point (this song being a great example), as the thematic melodies often overide the harshness that come with the darker death/doom metals.

Some of the older stuff like Iron Maiden, Dio, and Black Sabbath have often been diluted to 'classic rock' in common genre play, but definitely are still Metal. They also serve as great intros, as flowing from the source genres lets you find the subgenres that suit best.

For the existing metal fans, one album I love is DiAmorte's The Red Opera. It's definitely on the screamy doom side, however the throaty screams are paired with traditional opera for an album that I have yet to find another in its class.

I absolutely love the attention to detail not just in the song itself but capturing the spirit of the original's music video. Only thing missing was the picture in picture with closeup of the handwork.

Possibly the best, not the most famous, but most technically skilled accordian players in a very specific genre of music.

Weird Al, eat your heart out. Please schedule tour with them.

As you said, their channel is only 8 months old, and they have only released 2 videos so far... so 9k views on their very first release is pretty dang good, comparatively speaking (even if skill-wise they probably deserve a lot more views). Thanks for sharing this though, skybrian. It was awesome! :)

p.s. It's surprising how well metal music translates to the accordion. But what isn't surprising is that the brothers are Finnish. They do love their metal there. :P

If anyone wants to experience just how difficult this song is on guitar alone watch this cover I just stumbled upon. Song starts at 1.00. Here you really notice the change in rythm guitar throughout the song and how much it's doing not to take anything away from the lead guitar parts and definitely not to take anything from DragonForce because they play it amazingly well live the times I've seen them but there's something mesmerizing watching and hearing loud and clear just how much detail goes into that song.
