I've recently discovered and have been really enjoying Hollywood Burns; dark synthwave inspired (unsurprisingly) by cinematic scores, B-movies, and apparently specific films like Gremlins 2: The New Batch (and probably others that have gone over my head).
Suggested listening: Scherzo No. 5 in Death Minor

Also recently re-discovered keiretsu, a fantastic UK-based instrumental drum 'n bass group from the early 00s. Very much wish I'd got to see them live and that they'd put out more than the single studio album.
    Suggested listening: Pinch Assault

Finally, I keep going back and finding more amazing experimental work by the prolific Louie Zong. I've listened to DODONGO (what if The Legend of Zelda but Ratatat?) and Let's-A-Go! (what if Mario but Disco Italia?) several times each, and he's got many, many other mini-albums in similarly eclectic but wonderfully executed styles.
Suggested listening: Dragon Roost, Is This Just A Dream
