Oh man I love these guys. Too bad they're on a permanent hiatus. Anyway, I saw them in '07 at Voodoo and they blew me away live. I was the only one in my group of friends who knew who they were before watching them. My cousin and friend with me fell in love with them too during the performance. I remember Steven asking those of us in the crowd to raise our hands if we knew who they were. Only nine or ten people, myself included, raised our hands but you could tell everyone else was entranced regardless. The sun was beginning to set partially through their set and it just increased the ambience and vibe. It's easily one of my most unforgettable concert experiences.

One of their best songs in my opinion. The first part really gives the feeling of apathy and melancholy that's so common in modern times, then the music gets heavier and heavier just to end with a very calming and sentimental piece, with those beautifully layered vocals. It's sad but also kinda hopeful, I love it.
Also this is just a small example of the leader Steven Wilson's extensive and various discography, if someone wants some song suggestions for this artist feel free to ask!

Really you could recommend anything in their discog from Stupid Dream and onward. I mean their early stuff is good in it's own right but I think the aforementioned is their best work. Also anything from Steven's solo stuff is absolutely worth checking out too of course. You can't go wrong with him. His production work is excellent too. Specifically the Opeth albums he produced.

True, from the early stuff I'd save just a few songs like The Sky Moves Sideways and Voyage 34 part I, but everything onward is fenomenal, so much talent in one man!
